Galveston's 61st Street Fishing Pier: Frank KPRC TV Channel 2 has explained our blue water! Thanks Frank! Our silty water comes from the rivers to our south---Brazos and Colorado. When things are drier there is not as much river flow into the gulf which helps. And when there is a north wind, even at the mid levels (which there is today), the top layer of silty water gets pushed out while the clearer water comes up.
