Employee Spotlight Deborah - Director of Marketing Meet the newest member of our 61st St. Pier Family. Deborah landed at 61st Pier six months ago. She is an IBC who has lived on the island 3 1/2 years. She was born in Houston and has also lived in the Dallas area. Deborah's education includes a BA in anthropology/literature, an RYT 200 Yoga Teacher, a member of WISE (Women In Sports & Events), and also a Certified Tourism Ambassador - Galveston. Deborah has two children and a grandson named Prince after her favorite artist. She also has two sisters and a rescue dog named May(hem) - The quarantine puppy! Deborah is passionate about animal rescue programs and pet adoption. Ocean and Bat conservation are tops on her lists. By the way, May(hem) looks a little like a bat. Deborah has contributed many "behind the scenes" opportunities including the Loyalty Program (remember those crazy cards ya'll had to keep up with? Now all you need is your phone number). She also works on events and special occasions, including the food recent drive (over 200 lbs. donated during the holidays). She keeps you informed on social media, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and newsletters. Who would think a little girl who at the age of seven won "the most perch caught in her age group" would grow up to be the Director of Marketing at 61st Street Fishing pier? Maybe you will see Deborah riding her bicycle along the seawall to work or walking May(hem) on Babe's Beach.
